Optimum Home Care was founded by Dr Deep Bhattacharya and partners to fill a critical gap in Kolkata's healthcare landscape. As the city with the highest concentration of elderly residents among Indian metros, Kolkata's ageing population deserved far better than informal, unverified carers. We built the service we wished existed — doctor-led, clinically governed, fully transparent, and built entirely on trust.

Every nurse we deploy is GNM or ANM qualified, verified with the West Bengal Nursing Council, and cleared through mandatory police verification before their first visit. Sushobhan Jana is the clinical operations backbone of Optimum Home Care. A qualified Operation Theatre Technologist with over six years of hands-on experience across emergency medicine, intensive care, and cardiac critical care at leading Kolkata hospitals — including Charnock Hospital, Howrah ESI Hospital,Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, Nabajiban Hospital, and Sharanya Hospital — he brings rare depth of clinical knowledge to the day-to-day running of OHC's nursing operations. With three years of direct experience in the home care sector, he understands how clinical care translates from hospital settings to the patient's home — and what it takes to get it right. He leads nurse deployment, clinical quality oversight, and operational standards across every service we deliver.

Operations Director & Co-Founder

Md Khurshid Hossain brings a rare combination of clinical and business expertise to Optimum Home Care. A qualified critical care technologist with hands-on ICU experience at Charnock Hospital Kolkata, he understands the medical environment that every patient comes from before they need home nursing. Currently completing his MBA in Marketing, he leads the operational and business development functions of OHC — from nurse deployment and scheduling to hospital referral partnerships and community outreach across Salt Lake and New Town. His background bridging clinical settings and commercial execution makes him uniquely suited to building a healthcare service that families can trust.

Basira Habiba Belali

Basira Habiba Belali

Scientific Advisor & Co-Founder

Basira Habiba Belali is a clinical nutrition specialist and microbiologist who brings scientific depth to the Optimum Home Care leadership team. A senior clinical dietitian with hands-on hospital experience at Columbia Asia Hospital Kolkata, she holds a master's in applied nutrition from West Bengal University of Health Sciences and certifications from Stanford University and the World Health Organisation in public health. Currently pursuing her PhD in Microbiology, she advises on infection control standards, clinical care protocols, and patient wellness across all OHC service lines—ensuring our care meets the highest evidence-based standards.

Dr Deep Bhattacharya is a qualified physician with a background in critical care and general practice.
